Customer Reviews:

Enjoyable and fun. Some storylines were a bit far off but overall, an enjoyable second season4
The ABC Family series “THE SECRET LIFE OF THE AMERICAN TEENAGER” received a lot of attention during its first season as the series was critically acclaimed and also how ABC Family didn’t sugarcoat the challenges of teenage pregnancy. Showing us the ramifications of being pregnant as a young teen but also the responsibilities and difficult choices one needs to make. The series was also popular for its portrayal of teenagers of today. Again, nothing sugarcoated and despite it being on ABC Family, the series shows us the real-life challenges that teenagers are facing. These characters are just regular people, not upper class and each of them have their own set of problems.

The series primarily focuses on the life of teenager Amy Juergens (Shailene Woodley). Your typical girl next door. A 15-year-old who plays the French Horn in a band and part of a typical American family ala dysfunctional. During a summer at band cap, Amy met her high school band’s “player” Rickey Underwood (Darren Kagasoff) and with one very quick one night stand, this teenager had her life change in ways she would never imagine. Amy has gotten pregnant and through each episode, we would see how Amy copes with her pregnancy, how she had to contend with morning sickness, becoming the talk of the school and even at one point, considering an abortion.

In the second season, Amy now must face the realization that she has responsibilities and that she can’t depend on her parents for everything. But also major changes for each character as the season progresses.

Here is what is included on “THE SECRET LIFE OF THE AMERICAN TEENAGER - SEASON TWO” DVD (summaries, no spoilers):

DISC 1:

* EPISODE 12 - The Secret Wedding of the American Teenager - Because Amy is not ready for the responsibility of being a mother (and thinking her mother and father will automatically take care of the baby), she wants Ben to consider marrying her immediately via eloping (using fake ID’s). Meanwhile, Amy’s mother Anne requests a divorce from George and that he should move out of the house.
* EPISODE 13 - Baked Nevada - Both Amy and Ben’s father are upset that their children tried to get married. Meanwhile, Adrian’s father (who is a cop) tries to find out where the fake ID’s came from.
* EPISODE 14 - The Father and the Son - Rickey’s father comes to town and tells Amy’s parents that his son can’t be trusted and the bad blood between Rickey and his father is reborn. Meanwhile, Adrian’s father tries to have his daughter keep away from Rickey.
* EPISODE 15 - That’s Enough of That - Rickey tries to cope with his father’s request to sell his and Amy’s baby for money. Meanwhile, Amy can now find out the sex of her unborn child. And Jack serves his community service and discovers something big.

DISC 2:

* EPISODE 16 - Chocolate Cake - Amy talks to Rickey about putting the baby up for adoption. Meanwhile, George’s co-worker (a gay couple) is interested in being adoptive parents. Meanwhile, Rickey upsets Ben and puts into his head that she wants the baby’s father in her life.
* EPISODE 17 - Unforgiven - Amy and Ben have difficulties in their relationship and now Ben needs some time away from Amy. Meanwhile, Anne and George try to help Amy by looking for adoptive parents. Jack finds a new girl that he is interested in.
* EPISODE 18 - Making Up Is Hard to Do - Ashley is trying to find a way to get Amy and Ben back together. Meanwhile, Rickey causes problems during the adoption interview process. Adrian meets a guy who likes her for her and not for sex.
* EPISODE 19 - Money for Nothing, Chicks For Free - Anne tries to look for a job and Ashley meets a guy who is interested in her. Meanwhile, Jack gets himself into a little trouble.

DISC 3:

* EPISODE 20 - Maybe Baby - Ben’s father wants Ben to know a big lesson about money and that if he wants to marry Amy and take care of a baby, he will need to make money on his own. Meanwhile, everyone comes to visit Amy and give her advice about the baby. And Amy makes a decision about her baby and if she’s read to put the baby up for adoption or to keep it.
* EPISODE 21 - Whoomp! (There It Is) - It’s Amy’s baby shower but the problem is that she may be going into labor. Meanwhile, Grace makes a big decision in her life.
* EPISODE 22 - One Night at Band Camp - While Amy is in labor, she remembers the day that she and Rickey met.
* EPISODE 23 - And Unto Us a Child Is Born - Amy gives birth to her baby and Rickey comes to the full realization that he has a child. Amy’s father moves out of the house and Ashley also makes a major decision with her life.

The main premise of “SEASON TWO” is Amy getting near the date she is to give birth but all the emotions she has to deal with. Having to take responsibilities as a mother, having to decide if she needs to give the baby up for adoption or keep the baby and how she will have two men in her life. Of course, each of the other characters have their own storylines and drama but every character is utilized well in this second season and I was quite impressed. The second season was just as touching, emotional and enjoyable as the first season.

VIDEO & AUDIO:

Fortunately, the series is in 16×9 widescreen and because it’s a newer series, the overall series looks good on DVD. Audio selection is regular stereo or Dolby Digital 5.1. Primary audio is mostly dialogue but you will have music segments which utilizes your speakers more than anything. But dialogue is clear. And for music, very cool to hear Molly Ringwald sing the opening theme.

JUDGMENT CALL:

“THE SECRET LIFE OF THE AMERICAN TEENAGER” was another enjoyable season that was just as solid as the first. Well-acted, awesome storyline and great how each character was utilized throughout the series and overall, a good balance of fun and teenage angst.

The characters are quite likable and pretty much what is happening with American teenagers today. These are characters and storylines that young people and parents can relate to.

The series does a great job at handling the character development of each character and of course, with topics focusing on sex and friendship but also ramifications that result from sex (one night stands, cheating, affairs, etc.). This second season goes further as Amy learns that having a baby is her responsibility and that her expectation of her parents taking care of the baby full time while she attends school goes out the window; Ben who is in love with Amy and ready to take care of the baby learns that his father won’t share the wealth with him and he has to make money on his own but also having to realize that Rickey will need to be part of Amy’s life whether he likes it or not; Grace who is the girl who practiced abstinence and wanted to wait for the right guy for marriage now contemplating sex; Adrian who always gets what she wants sexually now having to deal with meeting a guy who doesn’t want to have sex with her but he likes her for her and not her body; Jack exploring relationships with women of different ethnicities and bad boy Rickey having a life changing moment when his abusive father returns to his life and when his baby is born.

This second season continues where the last season had left off but presenting real problems for these characters. And each actor portrays their character role remarkably well.

For the parents or adults watching this series, you’ll recognize the parents of these teenagers. “THE SECRET LIFE OF THE AMERICAN TEENAGER” features quite a bit of talent with 80’s teen queen Molly Ringwald playing the character of Anne (Amy’s mother); “Life with Bonnie” actor Mark Derwin as Amy’s father George; “Melrose Place” actress Josie Bissett playing Grace’s mother; “Smallville” and “Dukes of Hazard” actor John Schneider as Grace’s father; “The Sopranos” actor Steve Schirripa as Ben’s father Leo; “Ghostbusters” Ernie Hudson playing the part of Dr. Ken Fields, Lauren’s father.

This second season featured more on Amy’s parents, Anne and George and their marital problems and pending divorce and having to start over especially now with their kids so vulnerable. Grace’s mother and father still have an important role but mainly dealing with her mentally disabled brother who plays a prominent role in the second season as he is making adult decisions (such as wanting to get married to his new girlfriend).

One major difference from this season and last season was that the first season featured a lot of discussion (and an emphasis on “a lot”) about sex and wanting to have sex. The second season actually tones the sexual theme down a bit in terms of all the characters thinking about it (mainly because the first season, a few characters have lost their virginity). This time around, the second season of the series puts more focus on Amy’s pregnancy as the countdown begins to her giving birth. But the overall theme of every character is that everyone is pretty much trying to find their own way with their lives and having to deal with real life situations.

If there was one storyline that I found absolutely ridiculous for season two was the character of Adrian Lee who meets her stepbrother and a guy who she thinks is hot and being the sexual driven girl that she is, now wanting to have sex with her stepbrother. We know that Adrian has this need for sex because of the lack of male involvement in her life growing up but this acting out was a bit out there for this character. You would expect that this headstrong girl knew her boundaries and the writers to further that. It was a bit too “daytime soap opera” for me.

All in all, the second season was just as entertaining as the first season and I look forward in seeing how Amy deals with motherhood on Season Three but most of all, if the father Rickey will take responsibility for his son and what role will Ben play as a father. Of course, the others are equally important in the series and have their own storylines but overall, the second season was quite entertaining, fun and I really enjoyed the types of challenges the characters had to face this season.

“THE SECRET LIFE OF THE AMERICAN TEENAGER” is a wonderful, heartwarming, fun and enjoyable series. Definitely one of the the most enjoyable teen dramas with characters and real life situations that people can relate to.

Overall, “THE SECRET LIFE OF THE AMERICAN TEENAGER - SEASON TWO” is definitely worth checking out on DVD!

High school is challenging enough for most teenagers–doubly so for a pregnant 15-year-old. Amy (Shailene Woodley) and Ben (Ken Baumann) start the year by planning a wedding at the same time her mother, Anne (Molly Ringwald, who sings the pop-tastic theme song), looks for work and files for divorce from the obnoxious George (Mark Derwin), leaving Amy out of luck in the childcare department. It almost plays like a sequel to Saved!, except the comedy isn’t quite so edgy. Amy’s friends include good girl Grace (Megan Park) and bad girl Adrian (Francia Raisa), with whom she has something in common: “troubled narcissistic underachiever” Ricky (Darren Kagasoff), the father of her baby, who dates Grace by day and sleeps with Adrian by night.

The Secret Life is, essentially, a teen soap, an impression reinforced by the presence of Beverly Hills 90210’s Jason Priestley in the director’s chair and Melrose Place’s Josie Bissett as Grace’s mom (another familiar primetime face, John Schneider, plays her father), but it still bears comparison to Brenda Hampton’s 7th Heaven, since there are several well adjusted Christian characters, like the Bowmans (Grace’s family) and the Stones (Grace’s sometime-boyfriend Jack’s family).

As the second season swings into full gear, Anne meets a new man, Adrian falls for her stepbrother, Amy’s sarcastic 13-year-old sister, Ashley (India Eisley), gets her first boyfriend, and Amy finally decides whether to keep the baby or not. Supplemental materials include the featurette “Character Secrets,” in which the actors discuss their roles, and “Cast Close-ups,” in which they reveal information about themselves. Ringwald, for instance, cites The Breakfast Club as the top pick from her filmography, while Baumann acknowledges that he used to be a department-store-catalog model. –Kathleen C. Fennessy

Bagdad Cafe is an unfamiliar film, and I mean that as a compliment. The characters are all greatly flawed individuals who, as the film starts, are largely sad. CCH Pounder plays Brenda who owns the cafe. This woman could horror the mask off a cat with that shrill philosophize that drives her husband off to park in the desert and gawk her with binoculars for the rest of the film. Jasmin, the Bavarian German who likes her coffee strong, is beefy and seems to change clothes regularly despite having a suitcase supposedly filled only with men’s clothes. She is not the typical Hollywood star, but she comes to gain our hearts. Jack Palance as Rudy Cox, the status painter from Hollywood, lives in a trailer and sees the world through rose colored glasses. His costumes are pure Santa Monica Boulevard chic. He charms us as he falls in savor. The sequence of paintings he does as Jasmin gets progressively less dressed is hysterical. The other characters are also new. Brenda’s son who also has a son, a baby, wants nothing more than to play piano all day. The daughter dresses in trendy teenage garb and seems to repeatedly speed off with anything with two legs and pants. Debbie, the tatoo artist, seems like an S&M freak, and eventually leaves because “there is too noteworthy harmony.”

The thing I admire about this film is that most all of the characters change. Jasmin’s unfolding is heavenly. The themes in the movie of racial misunderstanding and harmony are also enthralling. Jasmin has never seen blacks and pictures herself in tribal Africa being roasted for dinner. She’s amazed at how light the palms of Brenda’s daughter’s hand is, a simple detail but magnificent in its innocent sense of wonder. The DVD version doesn’t add a ample amount of extras such as bonus material, but the movie itself is the reward. If you like upbeat films somewhat off the beaten track, perceive out this cinematic gem.

Filmed not too far from here in the town of Baghdad in the Mojave Desert, Percy Adlon’s BAGHDAD CAFE has charmed honest about everyone who has stumbled across this literally off-the-beaten track 1987 gem that’s now available for the first time in a bare-bones widescreen DVD transfer.

The chronicle is deceptively simple. Marianne Sägebrecht is a German tourist who leaves — and is subsequently abandoned by — her husband(? ) in the California desert. In the middle of nowhere, she makes her draw to the run-down, failing, Baghadad Cafe and Motel bustle by C.C.H. Pounder (ER’s Dr. Hicks) . The bulky Sägebrecht rapid becomes a share of the eccentric family under Pounders tough-talking rule. Not only that, her presence is the catalyst that transforms the forgotten roadside discontinuance into a bustling business and a life-altering experience for all expose. Jack Palance is fantastic as an ex-Hollywood residence designer and artist who sees Sägebrecht’s fair beauty and becomes obsessed about capturing it on canvas. What he sees Sägebrecht becomes and in the process impacts those she touches. This incredible film is about loving and accepting and believing and discovering and being. The modern music by Bob Telson includes the haunting “Calling You” sung by Javetta Steele. This is one for the digital library. Highest recommendation.

The General is one of a handful of movies that I can’t recommend more highly.

Some expansive weak movies are a miniature bit like spinach. They’re obedient for you, so you HAVE to glimpse them, even though you’d really rather not.

This movie’s not like that. You open watching dutifully, and within five minutes or so you’ve forgotten that it’s a peaceful movie. It’s an adventure account plump of narrow escapes, and a war movie with Civil War battle sequences that remain some of the most authentic ever filmed to this day. During the locomotive tear, I’m continually tempted to wail advice to the characters on the camouflage. (Okay, you probably don’t want to gawk a movie with me.)

The General is a comedy throughout, but the laughs don’t detract a bit from the adventure. There are long tracking shots that would obtain Steven Spielberg jealous. There are no computer-generated special effects, but there are stunts that level-headed produce audiences gasp — including one you’re not likely ever to forget.

Several years ago, Kino Video released this on DVD as piece of the Art of Buster Keaton collection, with a musical collect by Robert Israel. I’ve held onto a 20-year-old laser disc version from Thames Television because I retract that version’s earn by Carl Davis. It appears that this blu-ray edition will offer both scores, plus a theatre organ win by Lee Erwin.

(I write this review without yet having seen the precise blu-ray disc. It’s the sizable, titanic movie itself that I want to recommend.)

you should change your description of The General. Johnny Grey (buster) is NOT ‘rejected as unfit’ in this movie. They don’t let him into the confederate army because they contemplate he is more important to the South as an Engineer.

BIG dissimilarity. Don’t bust on Buster.

This movie gets high marks from me in the “PG” category. It can not truly be compared to 1998’s Veil of Zorro, even though the characters are reprising their roles, because the modern was a significantly darker “PG-13.” Don’t go with expectations that it will match the current.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Legend of Zorro! Click Here

When we revisit Don Alejandro de la Vega (aka Zorro, played by Antonio Banderas) and his charming wife Elena (played by Catherine Zeta-Jones), ten years have passed since the fresh movie, and their son is a major player in their lives (he is masterfully and comically played by the young Adrian Alonso) . As married life as gone on, Elena has continually urged Alejandro to give up his secret life as Zorro, but he keeps feeling the tug of his people. The two quarrel and separate, leading to separate lives amongst some major political upheaval and the arrival of a irregular Frenchman who seems to have his contain plans for the homeland. There are a few stretches in the region, but nothing too nasty for an action/comedy, and there is plenty of witty banter and see gags to effect up for it. (Of course, any history buff will rep the situation silly, but it’s for entertainment, okay? ) Elena gets to do some valid fighting and espionage-types scenes in this state, really coming in to her possess.

As my review title states, this is a family movie. The darkest moments are Alejandro’s dusky drunken sloven days. Again and again, the values of family, fighting stunning, not shooting anyone in the help, doing well in school, etc. are reinforced, but not in a preachy device. The young son of Zorro is quite a troublemaker in school, and he learns a lot about “doing the accurate thing” throughout the movie, powerful to the humorous delight of the audience. Notice this with a younger audience and know that you are getting some obedient action/adventure, packed with comedy and romance, without anything shameful. If you like darker entertainment, avoid this sequel.

I have no faith in sequels. All I have to do is contemplate about “The Lost World”, “Befriend to the Future 2″, and “The Temple of Doom” to reassure me that I can exercise my time and money more wisely. However, when the special edition of the current movie comes packed with a FREE brand… can you really go nasty?

Buy,Download, Or Stream The Legend of Zorro! Click Here

The ”’Story of Zorro”’ retains a lot of the energy, humor, and style from the first movie and that is more than enough to actually carry the film. I was terrified going in to this that without Anthony Hopkins, the movie wouldn’t have an anchor. I’m gay to recount that Hopkins, while he is missed, is not an considerable piece of this novel Zorro Universe and that is key.

The villians and anecdote are “unprejudiced grand enough” to accomplish certain this boat stays afloat while Banderas and Zeta-Jones do all the rowing. I’m sorry, but if you give this movie 1 star and are so bitter about it, you really must have a heavy heart… it’s a fun-popcorn-movie!!

I did have my allotment of misgivings I hope can be righted in the next film.

Firstly, the balance of the cast is so pleasant at general hand to hand combat [ie; children, women, peasants] that it does seem to undercut the valorous acts of Zorro. While viewing this one starts to accumulate the understanding that if ANY of the people in this film were wearing the conceal, they too could be Zorro!!

Secondly, while I had a big time with the action scenes featuring Zorro, there were actually too few of them and again, the ones that were here were laced with other people kicking-butt.

Lastly, the writers seemed to try a bit too hard with the family dynamic. While on the one hand I can scrutinize them broadening the characters but on the other, it came off stiff and sometimes hollow.

Still, I cannot say this was a dissappointment. Zorro is a incredible character and the Banderas-Jones one/two punch hopefully can live on through at least a few more movies… that is as long as they sustain the direction of Martin Campbell and the reworked scores of James Horner.

The rise to stardom and pop princess has been a rapid one for a young Tennessee girl who goes by the name of Miley Cyrus. For Miley, it appears as though stardom was born and bred within the teen sensation since within her mother’s womb. With the “one hit wonder” Billy Ray Cyrus as her father and the fact that one of country music’s most famed voices and faces, Dolly Parton, is her godmother, is it any wonder that the girl knows a bit about music? As though having an incredibly promising and talented enlighten isn’t enough, Miley Cyrus also displays an exceptional talent for writing and acting, which is delightfully apparent in her recordings, her sitcom Hannah Montana, and her full-length movie, Hannah Montana: The Movie.

Through all of of this and the like a flash rise of fame, it amazingly appears as though Miley is a fairly well-rounded individual who has, thus far, managed to run that out-of-control phase that several young teen idols have gone through these past few years. As a parent, this is a rather reassuring thing, bright how easily young girls are affected by what they view and hear and how noteworthy they want to imitate those they idolize.

In this unauthorized fable, The World According to Miley Cyrus, Miley is compared to a young Judy Garland. Though incredibly high praise, this impartial doesn’t seem to ring suitable to me and seems a bit of an unique comparison. However, there is also mention of the similarities between Miley, on her sitcom Hannah Montana, and Lucille Ball. This seems, to me, an worthy comparison. I had never concept of these two as similar until it was mentioned in this video. They do part a delicious comedic talent that reaches out to grab the viewers and note some similar characteristics in their physical comedy.

Buy,Download, Or Stream The World According to Miley Cyrus! Click Here

This unauthorized DVD takes the fans and viewers into the world of Miley Cyrus. It tells of her ups (her hit TV series Hannah Montana) and her downs (her controversial record in Vanity Graceful), her romances, and the average, everyday fun she loves to partake in. This is a girl who openly admits to having the best of both worlds and realizing she has been blessed.

Also, throughout the video are clips of interviews with fellow Hannah Montana cast members, family, and friends. Through this film, the viewer is given a feeling for who Miley really is. She is incredibly talented in her ability to write, obtain, and act and seems as though she truly can enact whatever she puts her heart, soul, mind, and hard work into.

I also gain that Miley is a substantial role model for young girls today. She seems to have virtues and truly cares about her fans and being a agreeable influence. Yes, she’s growing up and may develop choices that all parents may not agree with, but she is only human, does invent mistakes, and will learn from them fair as we all do.

As the mother of a seven-year-old daughter who has enjoyed Miley’s alter ego Hannah Montana for a couple of years now, we both enjoyed this DVD. It was fun, attractive, and showed that there is a true person leisurely all of those flashbulbs and glaring lights.

In addition to Miley’s legend, the DVD includes bonus snippets of peeks into the lives of singer-songwriter Chris Brown, actress Dakota Fanning, and the beloved Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens of High School Musical fame.

This video does have a handsome thorough telling of Miley’s sage, but the video quality was astoundingly, oh, there’s so many ways to say it, but I’ll unprejudiced go with Unpleasant. It looked like it was filmed with a cheap camera recording a broadcast on an faded T.V. The audio, except for the narrator, sounded like it had been given a heavy dose of auto-tune. I also took exception to some of the editorial statments such as “Dolly Parton’s blond bimbo image”. Voluptious, sexy, yes. Blond bimbo, no. If you unprejudiced have to have everything Miley, score this, but don’t bother watching it. Oh, I watched the HM movie immediately after this and the audio and video were gorgeous, so it’s not my equipment, unfortuantely. Cheap video, unexcited not worth the brand IMHO.
Stimulator and libido booster, all in one.

When I heard about a year ago that Hal Hartley’s “The Wonderful Truth” is going to be out on DVD in 2001, I feared some gross quality production - but this release should show satisfactory for this masterpiece. The recount will be 1.85:1 anamorphic and hopefully the image quality is going to be proper considering Anchor Bay’s beneficial reputation… Having been the directorial feature film debut for acclaimed director Hal Hartley, the film does not long for any substantial extras to be on the disc - an audio commentary would have been illusory - but we do secure an interview with Hal, and the theatrical trailer of course. This is definitely a disc to net for all Hal Hartley fans, and the only thing that could construct me even happier would be more DVD releases of his movies: Trust, Simple Men, Amateur, Flirt, his short films, etc… I’m desperately waiting!!

If you like Trust and Simple Men then you’ll care for this film. Personally I adore all of Hartley’s works, but to me these three films impartial go so well together. They’re all earlier works and in these films you gaze an incredibley inspired director do more with a coarse budget film than most high paid directors could ever dream of doing. I’d also like to say that if you’ve never seen a Hal Hartley film then this is probably the best point to begin out at.

Maybe I’m impartial a sappy romantic, but to be unprejudiced, I loved this movie. Oh clear, it has most of the usual cliches, but the point is you don’t mind them. You appreciate them. You also cherish all the characters. Monica Potter is incredible and proves she can do more than stand next to Robin Williams and Nic Cage and gaze aesthetic. Oh she looks heavenly here, but she is also charming, witty, and lovable. The three guys are amusing and well acted. The shrink is terrific. This might be a chick flick, but I’m one guy who loved this movie. Don’t extinguish your time with a mountainous studio comedy, go rent this tonight.

Rented on a whim and with nary an expectation, The Very Conception of You proves surprisingly exciting. The leads, Joseph Fiennes and Monica Potter, are, of course, sufficiently overly-qualified in the areas of talent and beauty as to compose one wonder how they were lured into this quirky, unambitious, yet endearing treasure memoir — all the better for us the viewing audience! The cross-cutting myth line is cleverly played out between the various persona inamorata and the past and exhibit tenses. I would agree that character development is not all it _could_ be, but this is more a backhanded compliment than a upright criticism: I was black when the time was up and happily could have sat through 30 or 40 more minutes. Those who would turn their noses at the admittedly implausible premise of cherish at first watch (amid the busyness of Gatwick Airport? ) perhaps have forgotten the adrenaline hurry acting upon an instant attraction can accomplish. I, for one, have never had the courage (or perhaps foolhardiness, considering the times we live in…) to offer a charming stranger a scamper in his beget car in return for dinner served on a balcony under a starlit night — but I did instantly appreciate the _idea_ of such a scenario. On behalf of ’sports-loving romantics’ everywhere, this flick gets my thumbs-up approval and a goofy smile, as well.

I fair got my copy of this fresh DVD. It is honest astounding! It is so distinguished easier to understand the shibori techniques now that I can discover them. The DVD is as pretty, elegant and aesthetic as the techniques themselves. The text is positive and concise without being repetitious. Yoshiko’s order is resplendent and reserved in the most lady like Japanese manner and yet well articulated and confident. Andrew Galli, Producer of Studio Galli Production, Editor Eric Bailey, Associate producer and English version expert Yoshiko Wada and her collaborator Hiroshi Murase in Arimatsu have done something unbiased amazing for the preservation of these crafts and to honor the artisans who tranquil obtain them. The scope of this living legacy is very inclusive with both the history of Shibori, and pracatical application of the techniques as they are former today. I was ecstatic to leer that some of these women (and men) are not 85 years old-fashioned! I am hopeful for the continuation of this broad craft tradition. The DVD will be a broad encourage to all of us who practice or speak shibori, and it should be of interest to historians and collectors of Japanese textiles as well. I know I will leer it over and over.

This was a very informative DVD with kindly discontinuance up views of skilled artisans demonstrating many different techniques. However, my copy of the DVD was base and i could not play whole sections. I need to procure out how to come by a replacement….

Update: Amazon sent a replacement very mercurial - most impressive-and this one seems to be working gorgeous for searching the menu. I would strongly recommend this DVD for anyone eager in trying the various shibori techniques themselves. It complements the written descriptions in the respectable books “Shibori- the inventive art of Japanese shaped resist dyeing” by Yoshiko Iwamoto Wada- the woman who narrates the English version of the DVD- and others and “Memory on cloth Shibori now” also by Wada.
