It’s a Family Thing….5
The Sopranos is one of HBO’s greatest achievements (although I admit that I think it lost some of its momentum and spark with seasons three and four). When I first saw the show, I was hooked. I’d watch anywhere from three to four episodes a day. One of the great things about first watching this show on DVD was that I could watch any number of episodes instead of just watching one per week.

“The Sopranos: The Complete Second Season” has to be my favorite season. As much as I love the first one, this was when things were really funny, intense, dramatic and involving. The season doesn’t let us down when it comes to Tony having more problems than ever before. Both in his Mafia Family and his immediate family, Tony can never get a break. His wife gives him grief while his kids keep doing things that upset him. And don’t get me started on his ill mother and self-centered sister. Life isn’t much better in his Mafia Family when the brother of Jackie is released from prison and is giving Tony a hard time both personally and professionally. Not to mention that his long time friend, Big P. comes back from a long hiatus when he was first suspected of turning rat to the Feds. All of this leads to one incredible and unpredictable season that showcases the show like none other.

For me, this was the most entertaining season of them all. I loved the characters, the constantly changing storylines, and the personal and business life of Tony Soprano, which is superbly balanced in this season. There’s still the much appreciated humor in these episodes that were found lacking in the next two seasons. It doesn’t feel like a soap opera, but a more enhanced look into the Mafia world. There’s plenty of action as well as dramatic storylines that will make everybody happy for the most part.

This season comes in a set of four discs, totaling at 13 episodes. The great thing about the show is that it is presented to us in a widescreen format that is enhanced for widescreen TVs. This really makes the show that more effective because you feel like you’re actually watching a movie rather than a show on cable. The picture and sound quality is great and really shows. There are some nice little extras, such as featurettes, brief previews and recaps of episodes, web-links and more.

“The Sopranos: The Complete Second Season” is a bundle of laughs, suspense, drama, action and surprises. You’re always on your toes and you never know what’s coming next. One thing’s for sure; this is the most unpredictable season out of the four seasons (the fifth one looks pretty promising thus far). While you’ll want to start with the first season if you’ve never seen the show before, you’ll know that you will have something special to look forward to once you get to the second season. In my opinion, this is where Sopranos is flawlessly at its best. -Michael Crane

Watch out. It’s addictive.5
In some viewer’s eyes, season two of HBO’s The Sopranos suffered in comparison to the sensational first season. The initial buzz of such a high calibre television show had worn off to a degree. What helps make season two so special is how those qualities that made season one such a hit were (and are) intact.

O.K., the overall feel of the sophomore season isn’t as lighthearted as the first–should it be? There is much that Sopranos creator David Chase has to say about life in general. And you may find that you have more in common with the mobbed-up characters than you think. It’s an interesting, edgy, wicked, funny and frightening ride that hasn’t lost it’s intelligent touch. The production of The Sopranos in subsequent seasons has grown (along with the size of its viewership), and the writing has been progressively more mature, dark and realistic. Yet, it’s still fun to watch, even with the darker plotlines.

If you’ve never seen an episode of The Sopranos, please do. WARNING: Once you do, you’ll probably fork over the money to buy both seasons of the series. It’s THAT addictive. The episodes are more rewarding upon repeated viewings.

The Best Drama on Television Gets Even Better!5
I originally rented the first season of the Sopranos on DVD and ended up watching all thirteen episodes over a two day period. I went out and bought the second season as a Christmas present for myself and I am pleased to say it surpassed even my lofty expectations!

The season starts out where the last one left off. Tony’s not talking to his mother, Uncle Junior’s been arrested and is let out on house arrest, Big Pussy’s is now an FBI informant, and Dr. Melfi’s seeing patients in a motel. But things get turned upsided down with the addition of two new characters: Tony’s sister Janice (aka Parvati) and Richie Aprile, the brother of the late former boss Jackie Aprile and Janice’s former lover. He’s just been released from prison and is looking for a piece of the action, both from Tony and from Janice.

I’m not going to spoil the season for you by running down every episode, but every episode, while self-contained, helps paint a piece of the larger picture of the season. Everything is covered here from the relationship between Tony and Dr. Melfi to a friend’s gambling problem to a power struggle at the type to a final farewell to a major player in the Sopranos.

I know the high price might keep some people from buying the set, but it is well worth it! If you get the chance, buy it!

Amazon.com
In its second season, The Sopranos sustains the edgy intelligence and unpredictable, genre-warping narrative momentum that made this modern mob saga the most critically acclaimed series of the late 1990s. Creator-producer David Chase repeatedly defies formula to let the narrative turn as a direct consequence of the characters’ behavior, letting everyone in this rogue’s gallery of Mafiosi, friends, and family evolve and deepen.

That gamble is most apparent in the rupture of the relationship that formed the spine of the first season, the tangled ties between capo Tony Soprano (James Gandolfini) and monstrous matriarch Livia (Nancy Marchand), whose betrayal makes Tony’s estrangement a logical response. Filling that vacuum, however, is prodigal sister Janice (Aida Turturro), whose New Age flakiness never successfully conceals her underlying calculation and opportunism. Soprano’s relationship with therapist Jennifer Melfi (Lorraine Bracco) also frays during early episodes, as she struggles with escalating doubts about her mobbed-up patient. At home, Tony contends with wife Carmela’s ruthless ambitions on behalf of college-bound Meadow, as well as son Anthony Jr.’s sullen adolescent flirtation with existentialism–the sort of touch that the show handles with a smart mix of sympathy and amusement.

Without spoiling the surprise of the season’s climactic last episode, it’s worth noting that only on The Sopranos could we expect a scene that sets up a mob hit with a perversely funny touch of magic realism–a talking fish, lying on a fishmonger’s iced display, speaking with the voice of the victim. It’s a touch at once morbid and goofy, and consistent with the show’s undimmed brilliance. –Sam Sutherland

I first saw Head On at a microscopic International film festival shortly after it’s theatrical release, and fell in worship with it almost immediately! This is by far the best go if the year, and a strong contender for my top 5 movies of all time. It’s wide ranging appeal, from the vivid international crowd who will drool over the interpersonal relationships of the Turkish-German main characters and the cultural aspects of two young, and slightly bent people dealing with their overly outmoded families, to a younger crowd who can savor this movie as simply a rocking kick-in-the-pants punk adore account, I’m convinced that nearly everyone who sees this movie will esteem it!! 5 Stars, would give it more if I could! And let’s not forget a bellow out to Sybel Kekilli, who is one of the most heavenly women on the planet!

For viewers of Hollywood films about marriages of convenience that turn into romantic comedies, this is not another one of those. Which is not to say that the kind of romance that develops between the two central characters doesn’t have far reaching effects - living happily together ever after not being among them. Each in his scheme is redeemed by fancy, and the viewer is taken along on a long, long move with many turns, often difficult to hold. If anything, the film represents the painful conflict at the heart of many Turks living as expatriates in Europe.

The “head-on” car shatter that brings the two protagonists together is also about a whiplash collision of cultures that are not only separated by a titanic distance but also by centuries. It is not surprising that in these circumstances both characters are driven to extremes of behavior. That Cahit and Sibel survive the ordeals they have gone through is partly the result of what they commence to feel for each other, but also notable is a return to Turkey where each finds some measure of personal integrity.

The performances in this film are breathtaking. Birol? nel as Cahit is a Turkish Klaus Kinski with the swiftly “fine looks” of Mick Jagger. He is a stormy presence on the hide (and apparently on the status as well) and delivers a disturbing portrayal of self-destructiveness. Sibel Kekilli’s peformance is equally amazing. The DVD has no director’s commentary (which would have been inviting), but it includes a number of deleted scenes and out-takes, and an informative and interesting “making of” featurette by an intern who worked on the film.

There are a number of Meistersingers available on DVD; none of them would shock the sensibilities of all except the most elegant. The recording under review is a product of Otto Schenk dating from 1975; it has been a long time since I have seen the Met’s Schenk production so comparisons can be made by others.

The virtues of this space are immeditately apparent: Christian Thielemann and the Vienna Philharmonic. To this I would add Falk Struckmann. His is a broad performance even if the narrate is not as graceful as Weikl’s or Brendel’s. He clearly has the measure of the role and it shows in everything he does. It is a excellent performance.

Von Stolzing is Johan Botha, a tenor I knew of but had only heard in the gala that eminent the fiftieth anniversary of the Station Opera: excerpts from Aida. Wagner is clearly his fach, and it must be said that he sang beautifully with poetic sensitivity. Alas the man is grossly overweight. For inviting comments the artist has made search out the Mostly Opera blog. Whether or not we agree with it we live in an age when appearance counts as worthy as boom and talent. Botha carries most of his weight around the center (not unlike Pavarotti) limiting his ability as an actor–he really doesn’t try which is probably for the best. Heppner is heavy as well, but the weight is distributed differently–it makes a disagreement.

Another virtue of this region is Michael Schade as David. He, too, is putting on weight, but he could have been costumed better and masked his figure more adroitly.

No, the genuine waft in the oitment is the Eva. I have seen her name in various publications, but I truly hope I never hear her again: Ricarda Merbeth. It is a tell without distinction, true technique and style. What she is doing on the stage of one of the greatest opera houses in the world is mystery. Where is that astonishing creamy Viennese sound that was one of the hallmarks of sopranos that hailed from this fraction of the world? It is arresting to price that this has been a very difficult role to cast on DVD. CD’s (and LP’s) did a remarkable better job, starting with Schwarzkopf, Gueden, Della Casa, Donath, Janowitz and Mattila–who is probably the best on DVD.

Schenk’s staging IS conservative and in Acts I and II and Scene I of Act III obliging and appropriate if without imagination or distinction. Had the singing of all participants matched the artistry of Falkmann I doubt if I would even bring the subject up. But it didn’t and for all the reasons I have location out it can’t pass without comment. I don’t know if this is a recreation of the recent or the Recent. The Dwelling OPera can do better.

If I were asked to execute a recommendation on which Meistersinger would be my desert island it would be one that many might be tempted to pass over: the Deutsche Opera Berlin. Its virtues are many and the singing on the whole is first rate. I would despise to piece with Bern Weikl’s fantastic Sachs and Barenboim’s conducting on the second Bayreuth DVD. Ah, the distress and pleasures of collecting DVD’s!

It’s very hard to earn outmoded productions of Wagner’s operas these days. The Met’s Schenk production of der Ring has been save out to pasture this year, and next year’s production promises to be radically recent. Most European opera houses (and especially Bayreuth) are infested with Regietheater. This, in itself, isn’t a awful thing, but not all interpretations are successful and thought-provoking; some, like the Bayreuth Meistersinger, are wrong failures.

Which makes this DVD very unique, since it’s basically a novel recording (2008) of a very tradional production of Meistersinger, conducted by a dynamic new conductor. The production, in fact, is after the style of Otto Schenk, as seen on the Met DVD. (You might like to compare the two) .

The conductor is Christian Thielemann, who brings a breath of novel air into the section, without losing its charm and humanity. He’s extremely well-liked in Europe at the moment, and received thunderous applause at the extinguish of the performance. Indeed, his interpretation was first-rate, but I felt that he could have moderated the volume a cramped, to give the singers more of a chance. The chorus was inaudible at times, and Falk Struckmann’s insist began to move towards the destroy - no doubt from trying to compete with a corpulent orchestra with the volume turned up to eleven.

Meistersinger is an opera which demands superb voices and reliable acting. For the most piece, the soloists’ performances were first-rate. Struckmann’s Sachs and Botha’s Walter were beautifully sung and acted. Schade’s David was also top-notch; he has a sublime impart, too. Adrian Eröd portrayed Beckmesser as somewhat of a fop, with a rather Gallic appearance, an novel arrive which worked very well. Ain Anger’s Pogner was also agreeable of mention - huge presence.

Ricarda Merbeth’s Eva was somewhat less impressive. Her screech was adequate, but her acting was non-existent - she spent most of her time staring at the conductor. Add to this her unhappy, and very distracting, habit of making wild grimaces while singing and it’s runt wonder that her curtain call met only polite applause. Objective as well she wasn’t in front of a Bayreuth crowd.

But in this world, few things are perfect, especially opera performances. On balance, I contemplate this is an proper version, not only as a gracious addition to the collection, but a noble introduction to Meistersinger for those who haven’t yet discovered it.

Recommended.

I had never seen these two films probably because Dean and Jerry are mainly supporting characters - kinda like how Abbott and Costello were in “Night in the Tropics.” But even with neither of them being Irma or her friend, these two films are sharp. Jerry and Dean net to give a witness of their nightclub act that made them the hottest duo working.

“Goes West” is revolutionary since it deals with television and Las Vegas. My popular allotment of the film is that these folks are broke, yet in 1950, they can afford a television. And television isn’t treated as an enemy of cinema in the film - although we learn that movies pay distinguished better. Also we acquire a perceive of early Vegas. The boys hang out at the Flamingo’s pool. What’s outlandish is night shots where you don’t search for that many lights on the Strip.

It’s a shame that Paramount set aside this out as a single DVD - thus getting very exiguous spy. Jerry Lewis told a crowd in Philly that Paramount was coming out with a Martin-Lewis boxset in January. He didn’t give anymore details. They better acquire the other 13 titles out soon!

MY FRIEND IRMA was a radio series in the 1940’s and legendary Hollywood producer Hal Wallis concept the film version would be a ample vehicle for up-and-coming talents Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis. The film was so successful that in 1950 Irma went West, with Dean and Jerry along for the breeze. This launched the comedy duo into stardom and before the year was out they were headlining their gain film (”At War with the Army”) .

I happened to discover director Paul Morrissey’s “Blood for Dracula” before indulging in “Flesh for Frankenstein.” After having seen both films, I can unequivocally place I preferred “Blood for Dracula,” which is somewhat of a surprise considering “Flesh” was made first with “Blood” coming as almost an afterthought. By the time Morrissey and company started “Blood,” the cast and crew were exhausted from the non-stop schedule of making two films benefit to attend. If you have dinky familiarity with these films, they were made under the auspices of Andy Warhol’s Factory, a time when the creator of Op Art decided to branch out into other artistic mediums. If you are like me, you cringed when you heard that Warhol had an influence on Morrissey’s films. I could never bring myself to delight in anything associated with Andy Warhol; I always considered him and his associates talentless hacks of the lowest order. Not to misfortune here, though. While the titles often carry Warhol’s imprimatur, he apparently had slight to do with any aspect of the production of either film.

“Flesh for Frankenstein” is a amazing retelling of Mary Shelley’s classic 1818 modern. The suited Baron Frankenstein and his sister, in this instance also his wife, bring up the kiddies in a nice, creepy castle somewhere in Europe. The hardworking Baron spends most of his time mucking around in his laboratory attempting to effect a human being from scratch. Often toiling alone or with his creepy assistant Otto in tow, Frankenstein is on the verge of success when he finally puts the finishing touches on his female creature. The Baron has quite an affection for his experiment, as seen in a few extremely tasteless scenes, but he realizes he has a spot. What wonderful is a woman without a man? Frankenstein fast decides to obtain a complimentary male figure so he can have a second family completely subservient to his hold whims. Why would the sterling Baron wish to have a second family? Perhaps because he doesn’t seem to net along with his enjoy family all that well.

Meanwhile, Baron Frankenstein’s wife tires of her husband/brother’s heavy workload and his tendency to neglect his children. Being lonely in a tremendous castle in Europe wears on a person, so Baroness Frankenstein turns to the hired attend for consolation. Her ogle falls on the newly arrived Nicholas, a tubby stable boy who promises to alleviate the Baroness’s solitude. Nicholas came into the castle after he and his friend, a Serbian planning to devote his life to the priesthood, fell victim to a inferior crime on the road outside of the castle. Nicholas woke up from the assault to ogle the attackers decapitated his friend. Angered by the senseless brutality of the crime, Nicholas soon comes to suspect Baron Frankenstein and Otto had something to do with the atrocity. While the stable boy entertains the Baroness, he starts poking his nose around the castle in an anxiety to figure out what is going on in the Baron’s laboratory. Everything comes to a head (no pun intended) when Baron Frankenstein introduces his two creations to the family at dinner, and Nicholas notices with dismay that his friend’s head rests on the neck of one of Frankenstein’s “visitors.” The servent swears to bring the bad Frankenstein and his sick experiments to an ruin, which he does in a finale both cheesy and gory in its execution.

In “Blood for Dracula,” Morrissey turned Stoker’s chronicle of the undead into an examination of class conflict between the decaying European aristocracy and the emerging proletariat. There is a bit of that class emphasis in “Flesh for Frankenstein,” but this movie also deals with the modern themes of Shelley’s fable. The arrogance of man to interfere in territory strictly reserved to God, and the subsequent nightmares resulting from such arrogance, appears throughout the film. Of course, Morrissey also throws in tons of erotica, stomach curdling violence and gore, and the cheesiest dialogue and performances in the history of cinema. You haven’t lived until you gawk Arno Juerging (Otto), Udo Kier (Baron Frankenstein), Joe Dallesandro (Nicholas), and Monique van Vooren (Baroness Frankenstein) ham their diagram through the movie. Dallesandro makes no pain to veil his thick Novel York accent even though the film is ostensibly region in 18th century Europe. Arno Juerging and Udo Kier utter camp dialogue at eardrum shattering levels, often with hilarious facial expressions and exaggerated motions. If you savor and enjoy truly snide performances, you will esteem “Flesh for Frankenstein.” I know I did, although I judge “Blood for Dracula” was grand funnier in terms of the campiness of Kier’s and Juerging’s performances. Further enjoyment comes from director Morrissey, who shot the film using lavish costumes, great situation pieces, and helpful cinematography. On the surface, you would deem “Flesh” is a well-behaved production until you peruse how sleazy Kier, Juerging, van Vooren, and Dallesandro explore and act. A movie like this must have ticked off some serious film aficionados.

The Criterion Collection decided to release this film, as they did with “Blood for Dracula,” with all of the trimmings. Included on this disc are a widescreen presentation of the film, a stills gallery, and a commentary track with Kier, Morrissey, and film critic Maurice Yacowar. I didn’t listen to the commentary in its entirety because I couldn’t stand Yacowar’s nasally insights into the film. If I planned on writing and publishing something about this film I would listen to such overblown pap, but I wanted to accomplish my hold impressions of the film. Lovers of cheesy films should earn “Flesh for Frankenstein” and “Blood for Dracula” required viewing. Heck, glance them as a double feature and delight in.

One would be well-advised to label my warning. This is one of the most violent, perverse, and laugh-out-loud (intentionally) laughable versions of the Frankenstein memoir. It’s also one of my approved movies (I like it better than its sister production BLOOD FOR DRACULA, though most tend to rate that one a bit higher) and, as far as I’m concerned, the best film to near out of the Andy Warhol-Paul Morrisey collaborations of the 60s and 70s. Udo Kier is fantastic as the inflamed Baron Frankenstein, Arno Juerging is tall as his idiot assistant Otto, and Monique Van Vooren holds her enjoy as Frankenstein’s wife-sister, whose insatiable sexual appetite is fed by hunky Joe Dallesandro. Abominable Mary Shelley could never have imagined that one day her Gothic apprehension unique would one day evolve into something as gross as this. But it’s all in superb fun, as the Baron and Otto sew up delicate corpses and talk science in the lab. One of the Baron’s hobbies is to produce adore to his female zombie (Morrisey mercifully spares us the more graphic details in this scene) . He and Otto go to a bordello for the perfect male “whose overriding urges are sensual”. But - oops! - they take the inferior stud to behead. Instead of Dallesandro, they seize his friend, an aspiring monk who really didn’t want to be at a bordello in the first status. When the Baron and Otto obtain that their male creature is chilly, the location thickens. This film is NOT for people who are squeamish. The sex and violence is all of such a perverse nature that it isn’t the kind of thing you want to sit down and inspect with grandma. It’s filled with campy humor and super-gory FX (imagine it as it premiered in 3-D!) . But, in spite of the usual Warhol-crowd tomfoolery, there is a very trusty sense of quality to the proceedings. Gorgeously photographed, with a sumptuous collect and blooming period detail, this is a slight too well-mounted to be written off as simply “a camp comedy”. Ironically, the final scene is genuinely tragic! Absorbing bit of film-buff trivia: This film (as well as DRACULA) was shot at the same time, in the same location (Italy), and with mighty of the same crew as Polanski’s little-known sex comedy WHAT? . Polanski, who has a brief but hilarious cameo in DRACULA, let Warhol’s crowd disappear into his Italian villa, but their eccentricities eventually drove him off. (As he has it in his autobiography: “They were a nice enough bunch, if a bit camp…”)

I suspect most fans of this film and Monty Python in general already beget a copy on DVD. The bonus features in this current double-disc edition definitely fabricate it worth the declare catch. Most of the features from the Criterion edition (two commentary tracks, five deleted scenes, radio ads) are here. (The nice 1979 BBC documentary “The Pythons” is the only feature from the Criterion version missing from this unusual region.)

Buy,Download, Or Stream Life of Brian! Click Here

The novel hour-long documentary included with this edition is worth the rob alone. All five surviving Pythons are interviewed and offer a lot of insight into the film, from its idea, to the controversy surrounding its opening (in the US and in the UK), to its lasting standing as the Pythons’ greatest work. (Yes, I know, many fans like “Grail” even more.) I’m always jubilant to watch up-to-date interviews with the team, now all in their sixties.

The other important feature is an audio reading of the new script, recorded with all six members several months before filming began. This is considerable more savory and watchable than you might quiz, illustrated onscreen with storyboard drawings and script pages. The reading is 20 minutes longer than the film, and you hear some bits that never made it past this stage.

And the film itself, of course, is a fancy. A hysterically comic, yet thought-provoking satire whose target is group-think in general, and not merely religion or superstition.

This is the 4th iteration of this movie that I have owned. My first was on VHS, then came the Criterion LaserDisc, which was followed by the Criterion DVD edition. I really wasn’t expecting considerable of an improvement over the Criterion DVD since this is an older movie. Regardless of what version you maintain, if you are a Python fan, you are in for a Gigantic surprise with this latest edition on Blu-ray. The recount is arrive perfection with only a couple of scenes where I noticed the tiniest bit of film grain. Perhaps the biggest surprise for me was the remastered sound elements. After trying the different sound choices, I found the PCM soundtrack to be the best. I really wasn’t expecting the sound to be that tall for this movie, but BOY was I surprised. Sony has truly outdone themselves with this latest high def remastering of Life of Brian. This is the absolute best I have ever seen or heard of this zany film. There are details in the record that I have NEVER seend before, and I have seen this movie MANY MANY times. If I had to complain about anything, it would be that the special features were not in HD, but that is not that mammoth a deal since everything else about this title is impartial area on.

There are many who would say this movie is a sacrilege. As a Christian, I would disagree with such a statement. I have heard some say that this movie is making light of Jesus’ ministry, and especially his crucifixion. They are missing the whole point. I mediate this movie illustrates how some people will blindly follow religious leaders, or will unprejudiced go with the crowd without really questioning what they’re doing, or why they’re doing it. The scene where Brian is improper for Jesus and chased by the crowd is a qualified example. When his sandal falls off, some buy it as a stamp that they should occupy their contain sandal, while some settle to follow the Holy Gourd of Jerusalem. How can anyone NOT peep the humor in that??? Also, what if there really were some in the far befriend of the crowd at the Sermon on the Mount who couldn’t quite create out what was being said??? I have seen this movie countless times, and at no point is Jesus ever actually made fun of. Even the crucifixion scene is obviously not a small on Jesus’ beget crucifixion. He is not the only person to ever be crucified, since there were countless others who suffered this depraved acquire of death. The crucifixion scene obviously is not about Jesus’ crucifixion since there are noteworthy more than three men being crucified. Of course, I’m clear there are those who would disagree with me. If you do accumulate this movie to be offensive, then simply don’t inspect it. After all, this is smooth a free country. To those of you who have longed for a pristine version of this classic Python portion, you MUST acquire this one on Blu-ray. I will be waiting patiently for Sony to allege a comparable version of the Holy Grail on Blu-ray soon.

Back in the mid-1980’s, the only plot for the average fanboy to score anime was through friends or other such unscrupulous bootleggers. Madox 01: Metal Skin Scare was one of the first such tapes that came into my possession, along with classics like Project A-ko and Site 88. All of these, of course, were in Japanese with no subtitles. But enough with the history lesson: you wanna know about the movie. For early anime, it’s actually quite good: a self-contained yarn (somewhat hackneyed these days) about a boy who comes into possession of a highly advanced robotic exoskeleton through uninteresting luck. (It literally falls off the benefit of a truck and into his garage apartment.) Of course, he has a chaste-but-smoldering relationship with a girl, whom he loves. Although he is at first thrilled with his newfound toy, the army soon comes looking for its weapon, sending their resident tank-commanding lunatic who impartial happens to disapprove armored suit technology in general. Things scrutinize profoundly terrible for our hero — but who is that heavenly woman with the even more advanced Madox suit? Equal parts humor and fighting robot action develop this a well-liked, even now.

I saw this movie in the slack 80s and ive loved it ever since. Been waiting a long time for this to reach out on DVD. Not your typical Mecha anime. A guy trys to designate his girlfriend by whearing a mecha-suit that was found, now hes traped in it and the army is after him!! Shows how diffacult it can be to jog around in the city wearing a tank!
